What we've changed
For maximum transparency, every change we make to the website is listed here.
- v2.1 - RockweedIn beta
This is the beta release channel, live at beta.midcoastfood.me. New features and design changes are tested here with live data before they reach the main site.
As work lands in the beta, it will be listed here. When v2.1 is ready it will be promoted to the main site and this entry will leave beta.
MidcoastFood.ME has been rebuilt from the ground up. The site has been migrated off Webflow to a Next.js application hosted on Vercel, backed by a live database.
New interactive food directory: a side-by-side map and list with category chips, county and accessibility filters, fuzzy search across names, towns, and ZIP codes, and a "use my location" option that sorts resources by distance.
All 296 food resources now live in a database instead of a static file, so listings can be kept current.
Added volunteer and business accounts. Volunteers can add and edit any listing; businesses can create and maintain their own profile. Accounts use a username and password with recovery codes — no email required.
Every addition or edit now flows through a community review queue before it publishes. Approvers review submissions, manage volunteers, and handle password resets.
The correction form and business-listing form feed the review queue directly.
Added an interactive map location picker to the listing editor.
Refreshed the navigation and added brand category iconography throughout.
Added JSON-LD Schema to pages to improve search engine visibility.
Added form to list local business food security programs.
Updated main navigation to add access to new forms and pages.
Initial launch of website.
